How would I get started learning to dance in the style of pop music choreography?

I am very interested in the type of dancing that occurs on-stage and in music videos of the likes of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, etc. Their backup dancers are mainly male and the choreography is just so cool to watch, I would love to learn how to actually do it. But what would be the name attached to this style? Modern dance? Contemporary dance? I live in Memphis, TN, so my options for dance classes are limited. I keep looking online to try and find a place that seems like the right fit for me, but all of the classes in this area seem to focus on ballet, salsa, or something of that nature. I know I am not the only one interested in modern pop dance moves lol. There are so many dancers out there, I know someone knows how I could get started..
